How do I become a SwimAbilities Instructor?
SwimAbilities instructors are first trained as Red Cross Water Safety Instructors, then receive additional training, mentorship, and practice teaching hours working with children with special needs.
Contact Laura Dumas if you would like more information about training to be a SwimAbilities instructor.
How do I become a SwimAbilities Volunteer?
Volunteering for SwimAbilities is done through the City of Edmonton. Steps on how to volunteer are found on the Volunteer Application page. Volunteers will need to attend a City of Edmonton New Volunteer Orientation Session and an interview. Interview times, dates and locations can be found on the Volunteer Application page.
See the Volunteer Responsibilities page for more information about how volunteers help out with the SwimAbilities program.
