Ballerina Dreams
Ballerina Dreams is a unique therapeutic dance program put on by the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta which is tailored for children ages 3-15 with cerebral palsy and other special needs. Children are assisted by volunteer dance mentors whose desire and determination is to succeed in making the children’s dreams come true.
In Ballerina Dreams, there are no leaps, no perfect pirouettes and no shallow curtsies as many of the children cannot walk or stand; instead, they are beautiful and graceful, as they are able to leave their braces, crutches and wheelchairs to the side experiencing freedom of movement in new ways. The children become a part of beautiful dance routines, their challenges put aside.
The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta is dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives of people affected by cerebral palsy and other special needs.
